Develop Business Thinking for Business Success

WORKSHOP

Achieve greater business success by becoming MORE business-minded - become a better business thinker!

Many people, including highly educated, wealthy and smart people, fail in business roles, whether as business owners or employees. They may have succeeded in previous ventures or functional roles – engineering, R&D, sales, manufacturing, finance, marketing, etc. Why?

Most people believe that to achieve business success, they must first have 'something else' – capital, technology, talented team, great business plan, etc.  Yet, even after getting the 'something else', they fail. Why? When people fail to perform in business roles, companies often send them to take courses in strategic thinking, marketing, finance and such. Many fail even after taking those courses. Why?

Many business owners fail to grow their businesses (they ‘hit a wall’) after being in business for a while and then wonder why their business valuations are low. Many family businesses fail into the third or fourth generations. Why? Entrepreneurs with brilliant ideas never seem to be able to monetize their ideas – make a business out of it. Why?

The Business Thinking Institute in Princeton has found  that the reasons people fail in business roles is from a lack of business thinking – business-mindedness – a business way of looking at things. It includes business acumen but is a lot more than that. The foundations of business success are in our minds – before money, talent and technology make much of a difference. It is a skill that can be taught and developed over time. That is a hard topic to tackle and therefore most people choose to skip it.

You must shed the baggage that prevents your  business success. You then need to develop the values, beliefs and behaviors of successful business people. We have developed a framework and the factors are based on personal business experiences, interviews of hundreds of business leaders across the US, Europe and Asia, a survey of 350 business people (including 100 millionaires) which has a Cronbach alpha of 0.9 (high correlation) and feeback from numerous talks and podcast appearances.

The advice and counsel of most academics and experts keeps harking on the symptoms of business failure while failing to tackle some of the big root causes read the article 'Business Advice is Like Much of Modern Medicine' in our blog - https://businessthinking.com/blog/business-advice-much-modern-medicine.

We have developed a two-day workshop -  a combination of assessments, talks, exercises and conversations with experienced business people - in which we will tackle some of the root causes of business failure and share the essential business success factors and the business thinking you need in each of them.

"You must be business-minded to succeed in business or somebody who is business-minded will beat you in business."

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

"A lack of business thinking is the root cause of poor business success (or failure)."
